Onix Work offers you some links (URLs) that you can use to access your equipment list and their details anonymously. Let’s learn more about it in the article below

What’s anonymous view?

Onix Work offers some links (URLs) which direct to your company’s equipment list. Anyone can use these links to view the equipment anonymously. They can access your equipment without the need to sign in, but they cannot make any change to the equipment.

How to view equipment anonymously

Use the links

The links to view equipment anonymously have the following types and formats:

  • Links to identify an exact equipment:
    • http://epc.onix.com/pqr/SAMPLE_LINK
    • http://epc.onix.com/epc/SAMPLE_LINK
    • http://epc.onix.com/bco/SAMPLE_LINK
  • Link to a list of equipment that belong to a location:
    • http://epc.onix.com/loc/SAMPLE_LINK
  • Link to a list of equipment that belong to an area:
    • http://epc.onix.com/ara/SAMPLE_LINK
  • Link to a list of equipment that belong to a document:
    • http://epc.onix.com/doc/SAMPLE_LINK
  • Link to a list of equipment that belong to a job:
    • http://epc.onix.com/job/SAMPLE_LINK

Scan QR codes which embed the links

Some companies embed the links in QR codes for more convenient access to their equipment list. Anyone can scan the QR codes with their camera to enter the anonymous view.

Note that QR codes generated from the Reports feature within Onix Work - Equipment module automatically contain these links.

Prevent others from viewing equipment anonymously

When the Prevent viewing equipment anonymously setting is enabled, if a person uses the equipment links, they will get the “No hits” result.

For equipment owned by the logged-in company

To prevent anonymous view of equipment which are owned by your company:

  • Go to Onix Work - Settings → Select System setup.
  • Scroll down to find Prevent viewing my equipment anonymously and enable it.

For equipment owned by a non-member company

To prevent anonymous view of equipment which are owned by a non-member company:

  • Go to Onix Work - Companies.
  • Find the non-member company whose equipment must not be viewed anonymously.
  • Select Settings
  • Scroll down to find Prevent viewing the equipment owned by this company anonymously and enable it
