My company has run into a couple issues regarding Onix User accounts.
Previously, in the admin interface, we had the option to close down a user account in order to force logout on the client side. This option has been removed, and i would very much like to have it back.
Web browsers are some times a bit unstable when it comes to user accounts in Onix, and we run into problems where users get a message that they do not have an active account, or the login is incorrect, or password is incorrect.
We also used to have in the admin interface the possibility to close an account (not delete it), and then re-send an invite to the account, in order to force-push a password change when users forgot their password. I realise that the login site has a “Forgotten your password” feature, but as we all know, some people need a little extra help, and need the feeling that someone is helping them and that they are not left all to themselves. The former mentioned admin function was brilliant for this exact reason.
“When people dont know what they are looking for, they are less likely to find it” -My Uni professor.
In addition: on the login page, the “Have you forgotten your password?” function, is placed below a few eye-catchers, leading to people having less chance of finding it. This function should therefor be placed right underneath the “Password” field, but above the “remember me on this unit” selection box. preferably placed midway under the “Password field” for maximum visibility. Also, adding a backdrop (3D shadow effect) to this function (and all other buttons in Onix), so it actually look like a button, would be helpful.
As my design teacher said: “The most important component in design is not the colours, but the contrasts between them. And the most effective contrast enhancing colour, is not Red, Yellow or Blue, but grey, the very absence of colour, and the essence of shade and shadow.”
