The current properties management has an unfriendly user interface and it is difficult for adding new features, so why not a new one?

WHY DO WE HAVE TO RENEW THE PROPERTIES MANAGEMENT

• The current properties management has an unfriendly user interface and it is difficult for adding new features in

• A whole new properties management with:
  • New and modern user interface
  • Easy-to-use: search or add new properties are much more convenient
  • Introducing CHOICES: easily select between predefined choices
  • Helps in creating convenience while adding property value to your equipment and keeping your data consistent
  • The possibility to input your value alongside with CHOICES
  • New System properties with choices

GLOSSARIES

PROPERTIES

• System properties: Properties that have been predefined by Onix. You CANNOT edit or delete these properties.
• Custom properties: Properties that were created by you. You can edit or delete a custom property.

PROPERTY NAME

• The original name to identify your equipment property. This will be shown if you have no property name translation.

DATA TYPE

• We have 2 default data types for your properties:
  • Short text (50 letters): a text with a maximum length of 50 letters
  • Long text (2000 letters): a text with a maximum length of 2000 letters

DESCRIPTION

• You will need to describe your property to let others know the use of your equipment property and how you can work with it

TRANSLATION

• Property name translation will let you and other users see the property name in multiple languages.
• In case you are using Onix Work in your preferred language:
  • If there is ANY property name translation for that language: it will show up instead of the property name.
  • If there is NO property name translation for that language: the property name will show up
• There will be translations for: Norwegian, English, French, Swedish, Danish, Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish

ADDITIONAL INFO

• Field type: you can identify your property as one of these types:
  • Other, Minimum br. load, Length, Width, Height, Weight, Payload, Diameter, Span width, Unit, Safety factor, DNV TA No.
• Active: Set the status for your property as active or inactive
• Property owner: The company that owns the property

CHOICES

• A list of predefined choices (options) from which you can easily choose one of them.
• Helps in creating convenience while adding property value to your equipment and keeping your data consistent
• There are 2 types of Choices:
  • Select between choices (options) only
  • Select between choices (options) only and the possibility to input your own text

PRIVILEGES NEEDED

• You need Create new/edit all remaining information privilege to add, edit, or delete the property of AN EQUIPMENT
• You need Manage properties privilege to add, edit, or delete the property of YOUR COMPANY

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH PROPERTIES MANAGEMENT

You can edit your equipment properties by clicking on the Edit button in your equipment details panel

You can add or remove properties to your equipment by clicking on Select properties

• helps you to add other properties to your equipment
• You can click on this to search and select a property

• A list of properties will show up and you can search for your properties to add to the equipment
• If you want to remove a property, click the red X icon to easily remove it

The manage properties panel helps you to manage all the equipment properties that you have in your company

You can search for or filter your properties

• Type in your property name to search with your property name
• Filter your properties by
  • Status
    • Active
    • Inactive
  • Property type

Fill in this information to create a new property

• Property name: The original name to identify your equipment property. This will be shown if you have no property name translation.
• Data type: We have 2 default data type for your properties:

  • Click Add choice and type in your input to set up a predefined choice
  • You can add multiple predefined choices you that your users can select between
  • The toggle Can add value manually:
    • ON: allow your users to type in a new value besides your predefined choices
    • OFF: your users have to choose among the predefined choices only, no more new value input.

• When you leave your Choices blank: it means that users can type in their value freely for the property

• Translation:
  • Property name translation will let you and other users see the property name in multiple languages.
  • In case you are using Onix Work in your preferred language:
    • If there is ANY property name translation for that language: it will show up instead of the property name.
    • If there is NO property name translation for that language: the property name will show up

DELETE MULTIPLE PROPERTIES

You can delete a bulk of your CUSTOM properties only:

• You can only select CUSTOM properties to delete
• When you select a System property, Onix Work will prevent you to delete it
