I’ve noticed that it takes some time to navigate through the control categories to find the correct one. Would it be possible to implement a search function that allows users to quickly search for the appropriate control category or equipment?
This would significantly streamline the process, as scrolling through all the options can feel cumbersome , especially when setting these up for the first time under settings in a kick off meeting with customers.

Its possible to search “Open” with “All equipments” regardless of the categories. One of the issues can be the person have put the equipment in wrong category then you will not find it in the specific “category search” - that have happen to me many times searching for specific equipment.

This product idea is related to assigning control categories to the logged in company and how we more easily can fin the relevant control category to be added.
Your comment is more in the direction on how to find equipment in equipment module. It is correct as you say, you can filter the list of equipment with view and/or filter criteria. You can select to filter on one or several control categories or not filter on control categories at all and use other fields instead to find the relevant equipment.
