Is it possible to categorize and analyse issues resulting from the response to points on the checklists?

Example, if a chain sling fails an inspection due to stretching, is it possible to see all chain slings that have been discarded (failed) due to stretching?

It would be really useful to be able to collate and analyse the responses to checklists and see the reasons for inspection failure or issues. It would then be possible to see the cause of common failures, spot trends, potential maintenance or misues issues etc.
