You can initiate the processing of order lines based on their stage outside of Onix Work, reducing manual effort in order handling. For orders handled in Onix Pick and Pack, simply set an order line to a designated stage and it will be processed automatically. For orders handled through integration with Open API, updating the order line to the designated stage will also initiate automatic processing.
Important notes:
To start using this new feature, your company must:
- Subscribe to an additional Order auto processing add-on license; and
- Set up the workflow for order lines from Onix Work – Settings.
1. Setup: Check the required license and select workflow stages
Check the Order Auto Processing add-on license
Firstly, check the required license in Onix Work – Settings – Licenses:
- If the amount of Order Auto Processing license is 1, your company has already subscribed to the license, and you can proceed to the next step.
- If the amount of Order Auto Processing license is 0, your company hasn’t subscribed to the license, and you cannot automatically process order lines. If you’re interested in getting this license, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Set up workflow stages
Secondly, set up the workflow stage following these instructions:
- In Onix Work, open Settings – Workflow → Switch to the Order lines tab.
- Identify a stage to trigger the auto-processing → Click on its Next stage after auto processing field to edit.
- From the drop-down list, select a relevant next stage to which the order line will be updated after the auto-processing.
In this example, we choose Picking completed as the triggering stage and Completed as the next stage after successful auto-processing.
2. Initiate the auto-processing of order lines
Use Onix Pick and Pack
If you use Onix Pick and Pack to handle orders:
- In Onix Pick and Pack – Orders, select an order and one of its order lines.
- Finish numbering equipment, editing properties, and adding documents.
- Set the order line to the initiating stage which is defined in the setup step → In Onix Work, the order line will immediately be processed.
Once the auto-processing has started, you cannot undo or cancel it. During the time an order line is being processed, it will become read-only to prevent any accidental adjustments.
Important notes:
If an order line has “No action” process, or all equipment has been processed successfully, as soon as you set the order line to the initiating stage:
- The order line will be updated to the next stage after auto processing.
- No new equipment and job will be created.
Use your own picking system
If you handle orders through the integration of Onix Work and your own picking system via Open API:
- Update an order line’s stage to the initiating stage which is defined in the setup step → In Onix Work, the order line will immediately be processed.
Important notes:
If an order line has “No action” process, or all equipment has been processed successfully, as soon as you set the order line to the initiating stage:
- The order line will be updated to the next stage after auto processing.
- No new equipment and job will be created.
3. Get alerts when an order line is auto-processed unsuccessfully
Turn on the alert for Order auto processing failed event in your personal User settings to receive relevant email notifications in your mailbox.
Note that you will not get any notifications in case of successful auto processing.
